Philam Football United

@ the Sta. Rosa Cup, Laguna. Ah yes, I missed the sweet shrilling sound of the referee's whistle. And fresh air. Yum yum.

This is a team I met in my village during Sunday/summer football. First time I had friends here after 25 years. I'm a shy boy. And it was only two summers ago that a tiny football field was built near our houses. As Kevin Costner said, "If you build it, they will come". Hahaha.

I can still reach my toes! Or maybe I really have short legs.

Our team fight was, "Philam EFYUUU!!!" Parang nagmumura lang kami noh. Hehe.

We won our only game against an African team wearing French Jerseys.

And I scored a lucky long shot just behind the half line! Wheepee!

You can see the ball rolling from the left side of the goal ;)

My Adidas. This is the F10 Wide Fit shoe. I'm really happy that Adidas came out with a wide fit edition. I have wide feet. When I was younger, I had to squeeze my feet in my cleats. Pero di naman ala footbinding. And the shoe got deformed easily. But now, it's comfy and snug. Like a sock.

(Thanks to Alfred for the pictures).

USB as your birdie.

Happy Vacation to everyone! Time for long sleep and more frequent kitchen trips. Hehehe.

This is a picture from the Adidas office last December 2007. Kawawa naman yung nakatanggap ng upo. Lalo na kung nagcommute siya nung araw na iyon. Haha.

Spend your Christmas with us tomorrow night @ Saguijo :)

work work play

Been so busy in the last two weeks. A lot of adjusting is being done because I'm trying to put some normalcy in my life. I got a day job!! That's a big thing for someone who's used to sleeping around 8 a.m. every day and waking up in time for the 3 o'clock habit on T.V. for the past three years. Forcing yourself to sleep early and to wake up have been a bit too harsh for my health. My endorphins are screaming for a re-fill! And a dry cough and a weak spirit are obviously a big nuisance. Thanks to paracetamol, some love, and multivitamin overload.

Apologies to my band for being a zombie in our 70's bistro gig. Still adjusting to this challenging set up. I live down south and it takes me around 4-5 bottlenecks to get to work. Metro Manila has really poor urban planning. The crazy thing about our building is it doesn't have a canteen or a real convenience store. When you step outside, EDSA greets you with its noise and intense lung cancer pollution. We need to take a 5 minute walk along EDSA to reach the nearest food place. And I always feel that my life shortens by 5 minutes (or 10 if with dinner) every day. I wonder if there is a life expectancy study/report on MMDA officers as compared to people who work far from vehicular dirt.

But today I ran away from this toxic city.

I played football on a field in Laguna that was surrounded by lush green trees and watched by blue skies and white poofy clouds. Breathe again.

ideal vision

I started wearing glasses during kindergarten. Mine were those big plastic ones which are now being sold at vintage shops. I should have kept all my frames so I could sell them five times the original price! I don't agree that all vintage things should be expensive. Who the hell dictates these fashion trends?

Anyway, I went to SM Southmall today to have my eyes checked again. Finally! A new pair! My current glasses are as old as the band (around 4-5 years). There are a lot of scratches already. And the arms of the frame have widened because of my huge head.

Mr. Eye Man told me that my grade hasn't changed. And that's great news because, when I was little, I was afraid that my grade and astigmatism would reach 1,000 :o It just kept on increasing with every check up. One day, when I have the money, I plan to undergo laser eye surgery because I want to know how it would feel to play football with perfect vision. I always struggled playing before. There was even a time when the ball hit my eye and my contact lens was shoved under my eye lid for hours. It hurt.

My new glasses arrive this Thursday!
